Women Against Alcohol
Before the war women were forced to stay in their houses because people thought they could not work. But as the war went on the women had to do the jobs of the men. After the war ended the women were urged by everyone to go back to their homes and work there. Most women did so but after a while they got fed up with their husbands coming home with their pay checks already spent and spent on what you might ask, well alcohol of course! And women hand to take a stand. The women started protesting about prohibition and as the days went on the people of the churches joined as well and after a while the government agreed to take a vote and which ever had the most they would have to follow. The vote was 51% with prohibition and 49% against but it still went on and the law of prohibition was made. Women were very happy to see their husbands working hard and bringing their pay checks home and sometimes with bonuses. Women were the driving force that started prohibition.
